Biography
Ryan is a BAFTA CYMRU Award winning DOP who started his career working on a diverse range of films, earning him a reputation of being a fast, agile and collaborative DOP. His most recent credits include the feature film ‘Timestalker’ (BFI) starring Nick Frost and Alice Lowe who also directed the film, and feature ‘Let’s Love’ starring Martin Freeman. Ryan was also lead series DOP on BBC series ‘Death Valley’ starring Timothy Spall and directed by Simon Hynd. Ryan won his Best Cinematography BAFTA Cymru Award for ‘The Poet Who Loved the War: Ivor Gurney’. He has since been nominated three further times for his work on ‘American Interior’ in 2014, ‘The Fight’ in 2019 & ‘Grav’ in 2022. Other credits include Dolly Wells’ ‘Good Posture’ starring Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) and Emily Mortimer, Jessica Hynes’ ‘The Fight’, Rhiana Yazzie’s ‘A Winter Love’, Alice Lowe’s ‘Prevenge’ and several feature films for Director Jamie Adams.
